We are a social enterprise committed to modelling evidence and experience-based approaches to community care.

  • Community Care

    Healing happens in relationship, and our approach is community-focused and human-first. Our current systems have difficulty serving communities if there is not economic interest involved. We exist in opposition to these models, and aim to bring our common humanity and environmental stewardship to the forefront of every aspect of what we do.

  • Financial Accessibility

    We are committed to a rebalancing of systemic inequity so that we can support our community members with more limited financial means. Dreaming of new systems requires some creative thinking in the near-future, and by offering self-selected sliding scale options, we hope to make our services accessible without shame attached.

  • A New Way to Serve

    Non-profits and charities are wonderful organizations... that are also limited by guidelines built by our political structures. As a social enterprise that links a for-purpose corporation connected to a non-profit organization, we have unlimited capacity to adjust to our community's needs, re-investing into our membership, and towards furthering our social and environmental impact.

  • Sustainable Development Goals

  • At Branches in Balance, we are both committed to Sustainable Development as outlined by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and, we aspire to build a flourishing business model that goes beyond this to create the possibility for life to continue on our planet.

    We aim to align with deep and valuable Indigenous wisdom, to create inclusive spaces that support both human well-being and environmental regeneration, understanding that the current status quo cannot continue.

Our current dream

We're working towards a hybrid, PWYC social membership model connected to a storefront social gathering space, or "third place", to be the hub or "nesting spot" from which our programs and services are delivered and our community neighbourhood grows.
